Pump prices of petroleum products are expected to go in different directions after Christmas Day, according to an industry source. The source said that diesel might decrease by 40 to 60 centavos per liter but gasoline might increase by 40 to 60 centavos per liter. The estimates were based on the daily average trading at the Mean of Platts Singapore of petroleum products in Singapore from Dec. 19 to Dec. 23. Rino Abad, director of the Department of Energy’s Oil Industry Management Bureau, said kerosene would increase by less than a peso. “As suspected, there is a very tight movement in pump prices which can lead to a slight increase,” he said. —Jordeene B.
