TABUK CITY, Kalinga — Police and anti-drug agents seized on Friday nine sacks of 358 kilos of alleged dried marijuana bricks worth P42.96-million in Tinglayan town in Kalinga province, a report said Saturday, Dec. 24.
Residents of Sitio (sub-village) Silay in Barangay Poblacion tipped the police that unidentified men were about to transport marijuana bricks from Tinglayan to Tabuk City, Captain Ruff Manganip, Kalinga police spokesperson, said in a phone interview.
The police responded to the village to arrest the unidentified persons, who were about to transport the items, but the suspects immediately left the cargoes and fled.
Police found the nine sacks full of marijuana bricks, leaves and stalks in tubular form. The seized bricks and stalks were brought to the Kalinga Forensic Unit for safekeeping.
No one was arrested after a pursuit operation.
