PH logs 626 new COVID-19 infections, active cases at 17,263

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) recorded an additional 626 infections of COVID-19 on Tuesday, with active cases slightly down to 17,263.

The COVID-19 caseload is now 4,057,629 nationwide, with 3,975,239 recoveries and 65,127 deaths.

These new infections are also slightly lower than the 1,147 average daily infections recorded from Dec. 12 to 18 and lower than the 1,082 cases recorded on Monday.

FEATURED STORIES

Metro Manila continued to lead the list of regions with the most number of cases in the past two weeks with 5,615 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 2,395 and Central Luzon with 1,142.

In terms of individual areas with the most cases, Quezon City led with 1,279 infections followed by Manila with 780 and Cavite with 724.

Meanwhile, 10,534 tests were conducted on Tuesday, which will reflect the number of cases on Wednesday
