MANILA, Philippines — A street sign has been installed on Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ) Avenue in Quezon City, completing the tribute for the late actor.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Senator Grace Poe, daughter of FPJ, shared a photo of the signage.
“Ito na ang FPJ Avenue sa QC! Maraming salamat sa pagkilala sa lugar na kinalakihan ni Da King. Lagi kang nasa alaala ng mamamayang Pilipino,” the senator captioned the photo.
(This is the FPJ Avenue in QC! Thank you very much for recognizing the place where Da King grew up. You are always in the memories of Filipinos.)

FPJ was known as “Da King” because he was the exemplary head of the Philippine film industry.
In his 46-year acting career, he appeared as a lead in over 300 action films.
FPJ was declared a national artist by then-President Benigno Aquino III in 2012.

Roosevelt Avenue was renamed FPJ Avenue after then-President Rodrigo Duterte signed Republic Act No. 11608.
