OLONGAPO CITY — At least 2,000 policemen have been deployed to key areas in Central Luzon to ensure public safety during the holidays.

In a statement on Sunday, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brigadier General Cesar Pasiwen directed all local police units in the region to sustain the presence of lawmen in their areas to prevent crimes during this period.

The PRO3 said that as early as Dec. 16, police assistance desks were already put up in strategic locations, such as bus stations, business establishments, and churches, to ensure peace and order.

It said motorist assistance hubs and route safety marshals would also help ensure public safety around the clock until Jan. 5. INQ
