Intense rains force suspension of work, classes in Camarines Norte

A tricycle driver was arrested for illegal drugs during a search operation in Capalonga town in Camarines Norte early Monday, Dec. 12.

LEGAZPI CITY — The provincial government of Camarines Norte has suspended work and classes Monday due to the threat of continuous rains.

Camarines Norte Gov. Ricarte Padilla said starting at noon, classes at all levels and work in public and private institutions are suspended.

He said government offices involved in vital and emergency response, such as malls, banks, remittance agencies, drug stores, and distributors of commodities, would remain operational to ensure continuity of public service.

Ricarte also ordered a no-sailing policy due to the gale warning.
Local disaster officials were advised to monitor the weather conditions in their respective areas.

Earlier, the Office of Civil Defense Bicol also reported flooding incidents in some villages in Daet town and a landslide in Capalonga town. INQ
