Drug suspect slain in Cavite

LUCENA CITY — Three motorcycle riders died in separate road mishaps on Sunday and Monday in Cavite, Quezon, and Rizal provinces.

The Region 4A police said the motorcycle driven by Maricris Palmiano collided at 12:10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, with a truck driven by Christopher Caluza in Barangay Gregorio in Trece Martires City, Cavite.

Palmiano suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.

Police were conducting further investigations.

In Calauag town, Quezon, motorbiker Alvin Miranda was hit around 6 a.m. by a van driven by Albert Panes along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Sto. Domingo.

Miranda died while being taken to a hospital.

Investigators said Panes lost control of his vehicle, resulting in the collision.

Meanwhile, Ken Panganiban was driving his motorcycle at 6:10 a.m. on Sunday along the Manila East Road in Barangay Maybancal in Morong, Rizal, when a passenger jeepney driven by Roggy Custodio hit him.

Panganiban was rushed to Rizal Provincial Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.

Investigators said Custodio overtook another vehicle and occupied the opposite lane, which resulted in the collision.

The three drivers were detained and will face the corresponding criminal charges. INQ
