Pagasa’s Monday forecast: Rain, cloudy skies in parts of PH
MANILA, Philippines – Moderate to, at times, heavy rainfall due to the northeast monsoon (amihan), the trough or extension of a low-pressure area (LPA), and shear line will affect parts of the country on Monday. It may trigger flash floods and landslides, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina said while there is no LPA within the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the trough of an LPA in some parts of Indonesia will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the Visayas and Mindanao while the shear line will cause the same effect in the Bicol region and Romblon.
The shear line will likewise bring cloudy skies with rains to Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Palawan, Aurora, and Quezon
“Sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, inaabsahan natin generally fair weather pa rin pero posible yung mga mahihinang pag-ulan dulot ng pag-iral ang northeast monsoon,” Badrina said.
(The rest of Luzon will have generally fair weather, but there will be the possibility of light rains.)
