Pagasa: Cloudy Sunday in most parts of Luzon; fair weather in Vis-Min

MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and possible rain showers due to the shear line and northeast monsoon or “amihan” are expected in parts of Luzon on Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Dito sa may silangang bahagi ng Luzon makakaranas tayo ng maulap na kalangitan at mga pagulan dito sa bahagi ng Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga at Quezon na dulot ng amihan,” said Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda.

(In the eastern part of Luzon, cloudy skies and rain are expected, particularly in Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga and Quezon due to the amihan.)

 “Samantala meron namang kalat kalat na pagulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog sa bahagi ng Bicol region na dulot ng shear line,” she added.

(There will also be scattered rains, lightning and thunder in the Bicol region caused by the shear line.)

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are forecast over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon with possible isolated rain showers.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers will also prevail in Eastern Visayas and the Caraga region.

The rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will experience relatively fair weather with chances of rain due to isolated thunderstorms, Pagasa added.

The state weather bureau likewise reported that no weather disturbance is being monitored in and alrund the country.

A gale warning, however, was raised over the entire seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon.
