The Bureau of Customs (BOC) raided on Thursday a warehouse in Imus, Cavite, where they found an estimated P150 million worth of fake apparel, appliances and general merchandise. The contraband were discovered after Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz ordered the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service to inspect the warehouse of the Hong Yun Real Estate Group Inc. Customs agents found ready-to-wear garments from brands such as Dickies, Mossimo, Bench, Levi’s, Puma, Fila, Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty and others, as well as appliances and general merchandise. In separate operation, the BOC-Ninoy Aquino International Airport has intercepted four air parcels containing illegal drugs at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City and turned them over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. The four parcels yielded 2,040 pieces of ecstasy tablets concealed in a foot massager, and 317 cartridges and 14 candies with cannabis oil. The total estimated street value is P3.86 million. —TINA G.
