THE CHIONGBIAN brothers, Frederick and Justin, put up a strong showing in yesterday’s 2012 Century Tuna SuperTriKids at the Plantation Bay Resort and Spa.
Frederick Albert Yuan Chiongbian clinched the first place in the 11-12 years-old category.
Frederick conquered the 200-meter swim, 4-kilometer bike and 1-kilometer run in 21 minutes and 29 seconds.
His older brother Justin Liam finished second to Philippine training pool member Sixto Lalanto in the 13-15 category.
The category required a 300m swim, 8km bike and 2km run.
Justin finished three minutes clear of Lalanto with his 33:19.
Lalanto, a Youth Olympic Games qualifier, crossed the finish line in 30:7.
Finishing runners-up to Frederick were Craig Joshua Uy (24:18) and Rafael Tan (25:37).
Completing the top 3 in the 13-15 category is Jezreel Tan (38.05).
Dominating the 7-8 years-old category was Syrah Ruth. She completed the 50m swim, 1K bike and 200m run in 6:44.
The 9-10 years-old category was ruled by Aldrich Etienne Alvez with a time of 19:26. The course consisted of a 100m swim, 2k bike and 400m run.
The 6-under title went to Xeemon Sage Cuyos, who had a time of 8:35. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
