LUCENA CITY — Police arrested on Sunday seven suspects for allegedly stealing cable wires worth P54,000 in Silang town, Cavite province.
The Regifon 4A police identified the suspected thieves as Jose Santos, Raymond Pinon, Ronaldo Capili, Ritchie Lubiano, Carlo Sibal, Jerito Lacerna, and Thomas John Macasiem.
A roving security guard spotted the suspects along the highway in Barangay Biga 2 around 11:25 a.m. while cutting copper wire owned by the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company and placing it in their vehicle, the police said.
The guard alerted the police, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.
Another cohort fled aboard their vehicle and is now the subject of a police manhunt.
The arrested suspects were detained and will face the corresponding criminal charges. INQ
