IN the battle of undefeated teams, Park N’ Go got the better of host team TBA-Red, 93-90, in overtime to claim its second straight win last Sunday in the Talisay Balik-Basketball Association (TBA)-2011 2nd Conference basketball tournament at the Talisay Sports Complex.
The game was close all throughout with Park N’ Go grabbing a 22-21 lead in the opening period before TBA-Red unloaded a blistering 27-8 rally to take a commanding 18-point lead at the half behind Roland Abadiez and Mark delos Reyes.
But Park N’ Go rallied in the third to close the gap to just five points 55-60 going to the fourth quarter.
TBA-Red took an 83-80 lead with 20 seconds remaining in the fourth on Ronald Sanchez’s three-point play. But in the return play, bull-strong center Aikan Cabañero of Park N’ Go nailed a buzzer-beating triple that tied the count at 83-all sending the game into overtime.
In the extension period, Park N’ Go outscored TBA-Red, 10-7 to complete the turn-around win.
TBA-Red dropped to 2-1.
Aikan Cabañero led Park N’ Go with 22 points while Kokoy Dequit and Jan-jan Alcordo added 20 points apiece.
Pare Villa and Mark delos Reyes paced TBA-Red with 23 and 14 points, respectively.
