5 ‘drug dealers’ fall in Laguna, Batangas

Police authorities have arrested one of Laguna's most wanted persons in the province following a manhunt operation over the weekend

LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested five alleged drug dealers in buy-bust operations Wednesday and Thursday in Laguna and Batangas provinces.

The Region 4A police reported that members of the Calamba City, Laguna drug enforcement unit collared at 3:40 a.m. Thursday Mario Cervantes, Johanna Marie Ilustre, Melvin Ramirez, and a minor named “Jona” in Barangay San Vicente.

Police found the suspects with six sachets of “shabu” (crystal meth) worth about P45,500.

Cervantes, Ilustre, and Ramirez were tagged as street-level individuals on the drug watch list in the locality.

Meanwhile, Allan Tenorio, a barangay tanod (village watchman) in Talisay, Batangas was collared at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday after he sold shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay Banga.

Police said the suspect yielded P6,800 worth of meth.

Also confiscated from the suspect was a motorcycle believed to have been used in his illegal drug trade.

They were all detained and are facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
