MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized another shipment of alleged smuggled agricultural products, including onions, said to be worth more than P20 million, at the Port of Subic.
Officials inspected two container vans, which arrived in the country from China on Dec. 1.
The shipment of Veneta Consumer Goods Trading, declared as assorted foodstuffs, was found to contain frozen carrots. On the other hand, the container van consigned to Lalavy Aggregates Trading, declared as frozen lobster balls and crabsticks, were found to contain fresh red and white onions.
The BOC said the seized agricultural goods amounted to P20.193 million.
