TACLOBAN CITY — The campaign against illegal drugs in Leyte continues with the seizure of shabu (methamphetamine) worth P734,400 during separate buy-bust operations on Monday, December 5.

The anti-drug operatives confiscated 30 sachets containing the prohibited drug weighing 108 grams in the raid conducted in the cities of Tacloban and Baybay.

In Tacloban, the raid in Barangay Cabalawan at about 11 a.m. resulted in the arrest of Reymund Malinao, 27.

During the operation, personnel from the anti-drug unit of the Tacloban city police were able to confiscate from the suspect 23 sachets of shabu weighing 52 grams with a street value of P353,600.

In Baybay City, authorities seized 56 grams of shabu worth P380,800 from the house of alleged drug suspect Jonas Mejia.

Mejia managed to escape through his house’s back door.
