MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) announced Sunday the reopening of the Roosevelt station of the Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 1 (LRT-1).

LRT-1 earlier announced the temporary suspension of operations from Dec. 3 to Dec. 4 for the reintegration of LRT-1 Roosevelt station — which was temporarily closed starting Sept. 5 — with its existing 19 operational stations from Baclaran to Balintawak.

In a statement, the LRMC said all operational exercises during this period were confirmed to be “acceptable after a rigorous assessment.”

“We are happy to announce that our team has completed all the necessary works to ensure that LRT- 1 is safe to be operated with the reintegration of Roosevelt Station. We at LRMC consider this a great milestone because we know how important this station is for many commuters especially those residing in the north,” LRMC Chief Operating Officer Rolando Paulino III said.

“The whole exercise of reintegrating Roosevelt was likewise a great display of teamwork and cooperation among our LRT-1 employees and external partners,” he added.

With this, all 20 stations of LRT-1 are now in full operation.

New train service schedule

Together with the reopening of the Roosevelt station, LRMC said it will begin implementing a new train service schedule for LRT-1 beginning Dec. 5.

The last trip leaving Baclaran station is now scheduled at 10:00 p.m., while the last trop for Roosevelt station is at 10:15 p.m. during weekdays.

Meanwhile, the last train is scheduled to leave the Baclaran and Roosevelt stations at 9:30 PM and 9:45 PM, respectively, during weekends and holidays.

No changes, however, were implemented in the first trip for both northbound and southbound trips of LRT-1 which start at 4:30 a.m.
