Over P185,000 shabu seized from 2 drug suspects in Camarines Sur

LEGAZPI CITY — Authorities arrested two drug suspects and recovered more than P185,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations in Camarines Sur province.

Police Senior Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said Christopher Gamboa, 53, was arrested in Barangay (village) Del Rosario around 4:55 p.m.

Gamboa sold a plastic sachet containing 25 grams of shabu worth P100,000.

Bongon said during the body search, authorities recovered two more sachets or 1.6 grams of shabu.

A total of P180,880 worth of shabu was confiscated from Gamboa, who was included in the illegal drugs watch list.

In Calabanga town, Erwin Azañes, 24, a street-level drug peddler, was also arrested in Barangay Paolbo around 9:50 p.m.

Police Colonel Julius Caesar Domingo, Camarines Sur police chief, said Azañes sold a sachet of shabu worth P500 while three more sachets of the same illegal drugs were recovered during the body search.

Domingo said a total of P4,500 worth of shabu was confiscated from Azañes, a former drug surrenderee.

The suspects were in the custody of the police and will be facing charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
