MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and rain showers due to the easterlies are expected in parts of the country on Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
(Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be affected by the easterlies or the warm wind from the Pacific Ocean. It is possible that the easterlies will bring overcast skies and rain, lightning and thunder to some parts of the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas, as well as the southern portion of Palawan, as well as the Kalayaan Islands).
Pagasa warned of possible flash floods and landslides in rain-affected areas.
Meanwhile, strong winds due to the northeast monsoon are expected in Northern Luzon, which prompted Pagasa to raise a gale warning.
Operators and crewmen of small vessels have been advised against setting sail.
