Siso caps stint in Milo tennis with 18-U title

SALLY Mae Siso, Cebu’s no. 1 girls tennis player, capped her Milo stint with the girls 18-under title in yesterday’s Visayas leg of the MILO Junior Tennis Cup at the Cebu International Tennis Centre Inc. (CITCI) in Laray Consolacion.

Siso dismissed Hannah Grace Espinosa, 6-1, 6-0, for her last Milo title as she will be moving on to the women’s category January of next year.

The 16-under title was clinched by Allysa Mae Bornia after an easy 6-3, 6-0 victory over Dawn Albert Uy of Bohol.

Uy advanced to the finals with a 6-3, 6-0 demolition of Mandaue’a Martina Cabrera in the semifinals.

In the 14-under, Uy had a shot at the title after earning an automatic semifinals entry as she was seeded no.1 in the category.

However, Uy retired in her match against Kristine Renee Salimbangon due to headache as a result of the intense heat.

Salimbangon will face Bornia for the title today.

Salimbangon will be hungry for that title as she had conceded the 12-under title to Zethley Mae Alferez, 2-6, 4-6.

In the boy’s division, Marc Norman Enriquez copped the 18-under title after outsmarting Fritz Satera, 7-5, 6-3.

After clinching the 14-under title against San Beda’s Elijah Arevalo, 6-2, 6-1, Jan Godfrey Seno is hoping to defeat another player from Manila, Pocholo Macalino, for the 16-under title.

Seno defeated another San Beda player, Andre Rodriguez, 1-6, 6-0, 10-8, for his finals entry. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
