MANILA, Philippines — House of Representatives Deputy Minority Leader Rep. Bernadette Herrera pushed for a congressional inquiry on the plan of Grab Philippines to hike the commission it imposes on its drivers and delivery riders.

Herrera said in House Resolution No. 585 that Grab planned to increase its commission by 2 percent on top of the 20 percent commission that it collects from each delivery or passenger booking.

Earlier this month, drivers and delivery riders of Grab urged the government to regulate Grab’s commission hikes because of its impact on their incomes and the transport costs of passengers.
