MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday assured the public that it is “continuously disbursing” the benefits and allowances of healthcare workers in the public and private sectors.

The agency issued a statement after several groups rallied in front of the DOH’s central office, protesting the slow release of their benefits.

“The DOH is continuously disbursing the benefits and allowances of health care workers in both the public and private sector,” it said.

According to the DOH, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has already distributed around 90 percent of the health emergency allowances (HEAs) to government-owned hospitals and facilities and around 40 percent of the HEAs to private health facilities.

It then reminded health facilities to coordinate with the DOH’s regional offices and to comply with the requirements guided by government auditing rules.

It likewise reminded them to submit liquidation reports to prevent delays in releasing HEAs.
