2 drug suspects yield submachine gun, grenade in Laguna

Police authorities have arrested one of Laguna's most wanted persons in the province following a manhunt operation over the weekend

LUCENA CITY — Two suspected drug pushers yielded a high-powered firearm and an explosive when arrested Tuesday, Nov. 22, in Bay town in Laguna province.

The Region 4A police said Wednesday, Nov. 23, that Darwin Pasuquin and Junenlita Sanico were arrested around 6:45 p.m. in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dila.

Aside from P6,000 worth of shabu, the cops also reportedly found the suspects in possession of a submachine gun, 18 bullets, one magazine, and one hand grenade.

The police also confiscated a Toyota Revo believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.

Both suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and another case for illegal possession of a firearm and explosive.
