Man nabbed for illegal firearms, drugs in Zambales

A 45-year-old man in Zambales province was arrested after allegedly selling "shabu" (crystal meth) worth more than P300,000 and firearms, police said Monday, Nov. 21.

OLONGAPO CITY — A 45-year-old man in Zambales province was arrested after allegedly selling “shabu” (crystal meth) worth more than P300,000 and firearms, police said Monday, Nov. 21.

Suspect Erwin Panton Canonizado, a resident of Barangay Faranal in San Felipe town, was arrested during a buy-bust operation on Nov. 18.

During his arrest, police managed to confiscate a .45-caliber gun and magazines, 48.5 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P328,800 and a weighing scale.

The suspect was immediately detained and will face charges of violations Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
