Shallow magnitude 3.9 earthquake hits Baler, Aurora

MANILA, Philippines — A shallow magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck Baler, Aurora on Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.

The tremor occurred 26 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora at around 9:55 am.

It has a shallow depth of five kilometers and is tectonic in origin.

Instrumental intensities were reported in the following areas:

Damages are unlikely and aftershocks are not expected after the earthquake.
