WORK was temporarily disrupted at the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) branch on Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati City Tuesday morning after an unidentified man called in a bomb threat.

Bomb experts, however, declared the threat a hoax after the search failed to turn up an explosive, said Makati City chief of police Senior Supt. Froilan Bonifacio.

SPO3 Enrique Fernandez of the Makati bomb squad said Amor Salundagit, a fiscal examiner at the BIR, received a call around 10:45 a.m. saying there was a bomb in the building.

Salundagit told police that the male caller did not identify himself and immediately put down the phone.

Fernandez said the employees went back to their offices at 12:20 p.m. after they reported no sign of a bomb inside the building.
