6 nabbed, P102K worth of shabu seized in Mabalacat City

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Personnel from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III (PDEA-3) arrested six persons inside a makeshift drug den and seized some P102,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in this city on Friday, November 18, a report said Saturday, November 19.

In a statement, the PDEA-3 said the suspects and illegal drugs were confiscated during a buy-bust operation at a house that was turned into a drug den in Barangay (village) Dau at around 5:15 p.m.

Arrested were Maria Liwayway, 52; Jason Alamodin; Jasper Tabulo, 25; Margie Ayson, 48; Vanessa Placiente, 43; and Elaiza Mercado, 30.

The report did not say if the arrested persons were drug users or pushers. It also did not identify the owner of the alleged drug den.

Confiscated from the suspects were five pieces of heat-sealed transparent sachets containing 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia. The marked peso bill used in the sting operation was also recovered.

The suspects are facing charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
