ITCZ to bring rain over several parts of PH — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring rain and overcast skies over parts of Southern Luzon and the entire Visayas and Mindanao on Friday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Dahil sa patuloy na pagiiral nitong ITCZ ay makakaranas tayo ng pag-ulan sa malaking bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao,” said Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres in a 5 p.m. weather forecast.

(Due to the continued existence of this ITCZ, we will experience rain in large parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.)
“Kaya asahan natin ang maulap na kalangitan may kalat kalat na pagulan pagkidlat at pagkulog at ingat na lamang po sa mga posibleng pagbaha o pagguho ng lupa na dala ng malalakas na pagulan,” she added.
(So let’s expect cloudy skies with scattered showers, lightning, and thunder and just be careful of possible flooding or landslides brought by heavy rains.)
Torres said parts of Southern Luzon, including Puerto Princesa and the Kalayaan Island Group, will also experience the effects of the ITCZ — cloudy skies, rain, thunder and lightning.
The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, on the other hand, will experience generally fair weather with chances of rain due to localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the low-pressure area being monitored by Pagasa near Mindanao has already exited the Philippine area of responsibility.
No gale warning is currently raised but moderate to rough seas are expected in the seaboards of Eastern Luzon and the Visayas.
The state weather bureau said the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Friday will be:
Metro Manila: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Baguio City: 16 to 24 degrees Celsius
Laoag City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
Legazpi City: 25 to 29 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa City: 26 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay: 22 to 31 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 31 degrees Celsius
Iloilo City: 26 to 30 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 24 to 29 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Davao City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
