CJ Optical trounced Sejisworld, 70-65 last Sunday, for its 3rd win in four games (3-1) in Category C of the Talisay Basketball Association (TBA)-2012 First Conference basketball tournament at the Talisay Sports Complex.
Randy Gavas scored 32 points for CJ Optical which grabbed the lead with the victory.
The Opticians led 16-9 in the opening period but Sejisworld responded with a 20-13 run in the second to tie the count at 29-all at the half.
The third quarter remained close but the Opticians outscored Sejisworld in the fourth, 22-16 for the 5-point win.
In the other game of the same category, Arbedoms crushed Park N’ Go, 72-64, to even their standings at 2-2.
Val Cabrera and Allen Gonzaga fired 13 points apiece for Arbedoms, while Danny Lisondra paced Park N’ Go with 15 markers.
In Category B, Powerade nipped San Miguel, 95-94, on the freethrows of Jun Capala. Both teams though, advanced to the quarterfinals alongside B-Meg and Park N’ Go.
Bobot Labuca led Powerade with 24 points, while Dado Iglamo paced San Miguel with 27 markers.
In the Legend Category, the Bulls routed Miami, 79-61, for a 3-0 record.
