Police are preparing murder charges against the man who claimed he accidentally shot dead his live-in partner in their rented house in barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City.

The elements of murder were present when Alicia Revealde, 43, was killed, said SPO4 Alex Dacua, homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office.

Dacua said the victim was shot at close range based on the presence of powder burns in her wound.

She may have been sleeping at the time, said Dacua, because there was no signs of struggle.

Police said it was also unusual why her partner, Ronnie Caparida, a 29-year-old Carbon market vendor, surrendered to the police around 11 a.m. the day after the shooting took place.
