A FORMER director of the University of San Carlos Cebuano Studies Center was honored in the 79th National Research Council of the Philippines Achievement Awards held at Hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza last March 7.

Dr. Erlinda Kintanar-Alburo was recognized for her contributions to cultural research, specifically on Philippine literature and language, folklore, and history.

Her researches on Cebuano studies inspired other researchers to undertake similar studies.

The books she edited, including literary anthologies with translations and dictionaries of indigenous arts, were used by teachers as instructional materials.
