31 gov’t hospitals get cancer assistance fund

DOH TO REVIEW ‘CUMBERSOME’ ONLINE SCREENING FOR TRAVELERS

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has made available its cancer assistance fund through 31 public hospitals nationwide for patients with cancer.

The fund, which will come from the DOH budget this year will cover outpatient and inpatient services. The DOH has identified eight cancer types as priorities. These are breast cancer, childhood cancer, gynecologic cancer, liver cancer, adult blood cancers, head and neck cancers, lung cancer, and prostate, renal and urinary bladder cancers.

Those wishing to avail of assistance must submit the required documents to any of the 31 hospitals.

These include Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center, East Avenue Medical Center, Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, Rizal Medical Center, Philippine General Hospital, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, National Children’s Hospital and Asian Hospital and Medical Center.
