Call center agent shot dead at Batangas birthday party

An unidentified man, believed to be a "salvage" or summary execution victim, was found in Tanauan City in Batangas province on Wednesday, Oct. 19, police said.

LUCENA CITY — A 48-year-old woman was shot and killed on Sunday, Nov. 13, while attending a birthday celebration in San Juan town in Batangas province.

The Batangas police reported that Lina Lourdes Quitain, a call center agent, was at the birthday party in Barangay Palahanan 1 at 2:50 p.m.

Suddenly, an unidentified man armed with a handgun barged in and, without any provocation, shot the victim three times, hitting her in different parts of the body.

Investigators said the gunman fled after the shooting.

The victim was brought to San Juan District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police were conducting further investigation to establish the motive behind the killing and identify the gunman. INQ
