Gov’t workers to start receiving year-end bonuses, cash gifts by Nov. 15 — DBM
MANILA, Philippines — Government employees and personnel would start getting their year-end bonuses and cash gifts by November 15, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said on Monday.
In a statement, DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said that the total budget allocated under the 2022 General Appropriations Act for year-end bonuses of qualified civilian and uniformed personnel across various government agencies and offices is P56.73 billion.
Meanwhile, the allocation for cash gifts is at P8.619 billion.
Pangandaman urged government workers to spend their bonuses and cash gifts wisely.
“The release of the year-end bonus and cash gift is provided naman po under our GAA for this year. For sure, many of our fellow government workers have been looking forward to this,” Pangandaman said.
“We wish to remind our fellow government workers to budget and spend wisely, as what we would always promote here at the DBM,” she added.
DBM said that the rules and regulations on the grant of these bonuses and cash gifts are provided under DBM Budget Circular (BC) No. 2016-4, signed last April 28, 2016.
The department also clarified that a year-end bonus is equivalent to an employee’s one-month basic pay as of October 31, while the cash gift worth P5,000 will be given to qualified government workers.
Under the rule, the year-end bonus and the cash gift will be given to qualified personnel or workers who have rendered at least a total or an aggregate of four months of service between January 1, 2022 to October 31, and that the employee is still with the government service as of October 31.
