MANILA, Philippines — Nineteen Albay local officials have joined the Lakas-CMD party, House Speaker and Leyte 1st District Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez said on Wednesday.
Romualdez, who is also the party president, said the new members include nine mayors, six board members, and four city councilors.
The Albay officials who joined Lakas-CMD are the following:
- Polangui Mayor Adrian Salceda
- Guinobatan Mayor Paul Garcia
- Libon Mayor Wilfredo Maronilla
- Oas Mayor Sharon Escoto
- Pio Duran Mayor Alan Arandia
- Camalig Mayor Carlos Irwin Baldo Jr.
- Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo
- Rapu Rapu Mayor Dick Galicia
- Sto. Domingo Mayor Joseling Aguas
- Board Member Jesus Salceda Jr.
- Board Member Juan Miguel Salceda
- Board Member Dante Arandia
- Board Member Victor Ziga Jr.
- Board Member Melissa Abadeza
- Board Member Eva Lopez Ribaya
- Legazpi City Councilor Roberto Lucila
- Legazpi City Councilor Luis Gutierrez
- Legazpi City Councilor Sunshine Imperial
- Tabaco City Councilor Caroline Ziga-So
“We welcome our local government officials from Albay to our ranks. We are looking forward to having a productive engagement with them,” Romualdez said.
Photos shared by the Office of Speaker Romualdez showed that several House of Representatives officials were present during the oath-taking ceremony, including Majority Floor Leader and Zamboanga City Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe, and Committee on appropriations chairperson and Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co.
Ways and means committee chairman and Albay 2nd District Rep. Joey Salceda, along with former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Alfredo Garbin and other lawmakers were likewise present.
