Farmer slain in Masbate shooting
LEGAZPI CITY — A 51-year-old farmer was shot and killed in Batuan town in Masbate province on Tuesday night, November 8, police report said Wednesday, November 9.
Masbate police said that while Fernando Marquez was sitting outside their house in Barangay (village) Poblacion at around 5:30 p.m., he was approached by the suspect Carlo Aligada, 52, who shot him several times on different parts of his body.

Marquez died while being taken to the hospital.
The suspect, who was drunk during the incident, was arrested by the responding police officers.
Investigation is ongoing.
