Jail guards in NCR test negative for drugs

/ 04:50 AM November 09, 2022

None of the personnel and officials of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – National Capital Region (BJMP-NCR) tested positive for drugs in a surprise drug test ordered by its new head. “Make sure that your jails are drug-free or else face the consequence of relief from your post and possible administrative charges,” newly installed BJMP-NCR regional director Jail Chief Supt. Efren Nemeño warned during his first conference with key officials and jail wardens in Metro Manila in its regional headquarters in Quezon City on Tuesday. Immediately after the conference, he ordered the conduct of a drug test on all 188 personnel and senior officials of the region. Nemeño also had himself tested. “We should exemplify professionalism and discipline. That’s why I do not want any of our personnel to be involved in illegal drugs,” Nemeño noted.
