MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) consular office in Tacloban City will be closed on November 8 for the Yolanda Commemoration Day.
In a statement on Monday, the DFA said operations will resume on November 9.
On Tuesday, Tacloban City will commemorate the 9th anniversary of Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) which was one of the highly destructive storms that struck the Philippines.
The DFA’s advisory came as Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez issued Executive Order No. 2022-11-041 on November 4, suspending government work and classes at all levels in public and private schools on November 8.
