Alleged motorcycle thief slain in ‘shootout’ with Nueva Ecija cops

SAN ISIDRO, Nueva Ecija — A man who allegedly stole a motorcycle was killed during a reported shootout Sunday with police in this town, authorities said.

Investigators have yet to identify the fatality, who was reportedly one of the two men who took at gunpoint the motorcycle of their victim in nearby General Tinio town.

Colonel Richard Caballero, officer-in-charge of the Nueva Ecija police provincial office, said the suspect engaged policemen in a gunfight when he was flagged down.
