BACOLOD CITY — Negros Occidental has recorded 24 cases of cholera, according to the Provincial Health Office (PHO) on Friday, November 4.
Talisay City has the most cholera cases with 10, followed by Silay City and EB Magalona town with six cases each, and Victorias City and Calatrava town with one case each.
Cholera is an acute diarrheal infection caused by ingestion of food or water contaminated with the bacterium Vibrio cholera that can kill within hours if left untreated, the World Health Organization said.
Negros Occidental is set to hold a Health Summit on November 24.
