CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)  – Central Luzon operatives arrested a 25-year-old man in Paranaque City on Friday, Nov. 4, after he accepted a package containing some P925,000 worth of high grade marijuana that had arrived at the Port of Clark here.

In a statement Friday night, PDEA – Central Luzon said that Kristoffer Angelo Delgado was collared after he accepted the package from undercover operatives in a “controlled delivery operation” at his residence in Paranaque City.

The time of the operation was not stated in the report issued Saturday, Nov. 5.

The agency said the package containing the illegal substance arrived at the Port of Clark Oct. 24. The report did not say where the package originated or the name of its sender.

“The package was declared as a sweater but later on discovered containing dangerous drugs when it underwent x-ray and K9 inspection,” the report said.

Instead of a sweater, PDEA found 588 grams of marijuana inside 45 pieces of vape cartridges.

Authorities also confiscated the national ID card presented by the suspect to PDEA agents who pretended to be personnel of a courier company.

The mobile phone he used to communicate with the latter was also seized as evidence.

The operation was conducted by PDEA – Central Luzon in coordination with PDEA – National Capital Region and the Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark.

The suspect will face a formal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
