MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila or the National Capital Region (NCR) declined to 8.9 percent last week from 10.7 percent the week before – the lowest 7-day ratio in the region since July 4, according to Octa Research fellow Guido David.
In a Twitter post on Friday, David said that if this trend continues, it would mean less than 100 new cases per day in Metro Manila before the end of November.
The region’s 10.7 percent positivity rate was from October 19-25 while the 8.9 percent was from October 27-November 2.
Positivity rate refers to the percentage at which people who get tested for COVID-19 are confirmed infected with the coronavirus.
NCR 7-day positivity rate decreased from 10.7% to 8.9%. Reproduction number down to 0.65, ADAR at 1.87 per 100k, HCUR at 27.8%. Current trends, if they continue, would project to less than 100 new cases per day in the NCR before November's end. #COVID19 #COVID @dzbb @DZAR1026 pic.twitter.com/7c6zXuXmm8
