Motorcyclist dead in Batangas drag race

LUCENA CITY — A motorcyclist died before midnight Thursday during a drag race in Rosario town in Batangas province.

Batangas police reported that motorbikers Lucky Andrew Mendoza and Tristan Mark Delos Reyes were racing against each other along the national road in Barangay Baybayin.

The report said Mendoza, who was ahead of the race, suddenly turned right and accidentally hit De los Reyes’s motorcycle.

Mendoza was thrown from his vehicle and crashed his head on the pavement.

Both drivers suffered injuries and were rushed to Christ the Saviour General Hospital Inc. in the locality, but Mendoza died along the way. INQ
