MANILA, Philippines – Warm daytime weather with possible afternoon rain showers are expected nationwide on Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Dito sa Metro Manila at nalalabing bahagi ng bansa, maninipis na kaulapan nalang ang ating naoobserbahan nating umiiral, kaya ngayong umaga hanggang tanghali, asahan natin na magpapatuloy itong mainit at maalinsangan na panahon at mamayang hapon hanggang sa gabi naman, may tsansa tayo na mga pulo-pulong pag-ulan, pagkulog na dala naman ng localized thunderstorms,” said Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil.
(A light layer of cloud covers over most parts of the country. Hence, expect hot and dry weather this morning until noontime, will persist while in the afternoon and evening, rain showers are possible due to localized thunderstorms).
Meanwhile, a low pressure area (LPA) will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms in Caraga and the Davao Region, said Villamil. He said that the LPA may dissipate within the next 12 hours.
No gale warnings are in effect over any of the country’s seaboards. Pagasa, however, warned of possible flash floods and landslides in areas affected by rain.
