MANILA, Philippines — The son of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla on Wednesday attended the preliminary investigation of a complaint about importing illegal drugs.
Wearing a dark hoodie, a dark baseball cap, and dark eyeglasses, Juanito Jose III personally appeared before Sr. Deputy City Prosecutor Joselito de Asas, Senior Assistant City Prosecutors Allan Mangabat and Serafin Salazar. His lawyer accompanied him.
Also, present during the preliminary investigation is the airport Customs Examiner and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) members.
The preliminary investigation lasted for around 20 minutes. The younger Remulla and his lawyer immediately left the prosecutor’s office after the hearing without giving any interview to the media.
Remulla was given until Nov. 9 to submit his counter-affidavit.
The complaint is based on the same affidavit filed by PDEA for drug possession, now pending before the Las Piñas Court.
The young Remulla was arrested last month after he received P1.3 million worth of kush or high-grade marijuana in a controlled delivery by the airport customs and PDEA.
