THE ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) cracked the whip on the Indonesia Warriors and the Bangkok Cobras following the latter’s walk-out during their game last Saturday at the GOR C’tra Arena in Indonesia.

Officials reviewed the game reports filed by the crew as well as the game footage and came to a decision to fine the Warriors an undisclosed amount for their failure to control the crowd as well as “failing to provide a home venue with all the facilities as outlined in the ABL rules and regulations.”

The Cobras on the other hand, will also be fined an undisclosed amount for their failure to finish the game. They will also forfeit the said match. In addition, Cobras’ head coach Joe “Jellybean” Bryant, the father of NBA superstar, Kobe Bryant, will also be fined “for repeatedly walking onto the court and failing to remain within the team bench area during the game” as per the FIBA Rules. He will also be suspended for one game for instigating the walkout.

The buck did not stop there as former pro and Ateneo star, Jai Reyes will also be fined for making “public prejudicial statements and allegations via his Twitter account regarding the ABL’s game officials from this match-up without prior definite proof.”  /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
