Manila Water releases its desludging schedule for the month of November 2022. Customers are encouraged to coordinate with their respective barangays for the specific schedules to avail of the desludging services at no additional fees. Septic tank siphoning is ideally done every five years to ensure that the wastewater collected from septic tanks will undergo proper treatment through the company’s septage treatment facilities before they are discharged back to bodies of water. According to Jeric Sevilla, Jr., head of Manila Water’s Corporate Communication Affairs Group, the desludging services will be provided at no extra cost to customers.

“This is already covered by the customers’ monthly bill, as long as they avail of the service within the month their barangay is scheduled for desludging,” likewise said.

Sevilla continued by saying that septic tanks should be emptied and syphoned every five years so that the wastewater collected from them can be treated at the company’s septage treatment facilities before being released back into bodies of water.

Sevilla also urged verification of the desludging schedule in their respective barangays by calling the Manila Water Consumer Desk Hotline 1627.

Prior to the desludging schedule, Manila Water’s team will also be conducting a census or survey of each location to keep track of the residents’ desludging cycle.
