MANILA, Philippines — The number of reported deaths left by Tropical Storm Paeng has climbed to 110, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Tuesday.
Of these deaths, 79 were confirmed while 31 are still for validation.
Most of the deaths were reported in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao at 59.
Sixty-three people were injured and 23 are currently missing from various locations across the country.
Total agricultural losses were estimated at P1.2 billion, while infrastructure losses were at P760 million.
Paeng (international name: Nalgae) is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 545 kilometers west of Calayan, Cagayan, packing maximum winds of 110 kilometers per hour (kph) with gustiness of 135 kph as of 4 pm on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
