MANILA, Philippines — A total of 9,916 law graduates are expected to take the 2022 bar examinations to be held on Nov. 9, 13, 16, and 20.

Brian Hosaka, spokesperson for the Supreme Court, said a total of 10,075 law graduates were originally approved to take the exams, but 159 later withdrew their applications for unknown reasons.

There have been calls on social media to postpone and reschedule the bar exams due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae).

The high court earlier announced that 14 local testing centers will serve as venues for the bar examinations. These include five schools in Metro Manila, and three each in the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The 2022 bar exams will cover remedial law and legal ethics; political and international law; criminal law; labor law and social legislation; civil law and mercantile law.

It will be the second time the mandatory qualification examination will be conducted in digital form after the 2021 bar exams.
