SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Authorities rescued two more crew members of a distressed barge in the waters off Barangay Bangan in Botolan town in this province on Monday, Oct. 31.
PO3 Mar Marasigan, coast guard sub-station commander in Botolan, told the Inquirer that Christian Cagoyong, 26, and Peter Claro, 27, were rescued at about 1:45 p.m.
However, the chief crew member, identified as Arland Baculando, 34, remained missing.
On Sunday, the barge was seen in the waters off Barangay Porac and was hit by huge waves. It was carrying six people.
Marasigan said the barge was about to be brought to a safer place around 5 p.m. when it drifted toward Bangan after the rope being used by the tugboat in pulling it snapped.
Earlier, three other crew members of the vessel were already rescued. INQ
